A blog by Joe Caponi about beers and wines, particularly those from Long Island, along with a variety of other comments. This blog was primarily active from 2002-2006, when I was making it out to more wineries and brewpubs!

French Wine Boycott--Over!
Contratulations to the French (really!) for giving the boot to the Brave New World - bureaucracy-is-our-new-God EU constitution.

Update: George Will explains it all.

Tiger In My Tank
Just did the big upgrade on my iBook - added a 160 gig external LaCie drive to back everything up; put in 512 Meg of Ram; and installed Mac OS X Tiger. The toughest part was unscrewing one little screw in the ram shield under the keyboard - I literally wound up dremeling the darn thing off - with sparks flying from inside the iBook! But everything works great - and now I can load up my new iPod Photo and Eliz's iPod shuffle!
The 'Spotlight' search is quite cool and fast, and the Dashboard widgets look cool - I've got to look around from some astronomy or beer ones!

Last 'Enterprise'
Is tonight. It will be sad to not have new Treks to look forward to (at least for now). But like McCoy told Kirk, "It's not really gone, as long as we remember it."

Brain-damaged firefighter speaks for the first time in ten years.
Of course, stuff like this never happens.
Good thing he doesn't live in Florida.
